While we in the States might most immediately think of fruit pies with partially folded edges when we hear the word “galette,” the French consider the galette a whole category of baked good, ranging in shapes, sizes, and forms that include sweet cakes, savory flatbreads, ridged waffles and even buttery cookies. Inspired by a beloved regional variation of galette known as Broyés du Poitou, CuratedCravings™ French Galettes Butter Cookies are made especially for us by an esteemed French bakery near the historic city of Nantes. They use a traditional recipe that includes French cultured butter to produce a satisfyingly crisp exterior, and crumbly, wonderfully melt-in-your-mouth interior.  A delicious dessert or sweet snack in practically any context, we particularly enjoy our French Galettes Butter Cookies when paired with a hot cup of coffee or tea. Simple, sweet (but not too sweet), and texturally toothsome, they make a great companion to a bowl of ice cream or platter of fresh cut fruit.
