A lush and leafy hybrid of butter lettuce and Romaine, Little Gem Lettuce’s exquisitely toothsome texture and mild, delicately sweet flavor combine to create an eating experience as luxurious as its name would imply. That said, what’s luxury without convenience? That’s where Trader Joe’s Leaves of Little Gem Lettuce come in. Pre- washed, pre-separated, and totally ready to use in any context that calls for tender, crisp Lettuce, these Little Gem Leaves are an easy and elegant way to get your greens in. Since our supplier pre-washes these Leaves, they’re ready to be enjoyed, right out of the bag. In fact, aside from their many uses as the base for a salad, we find that they make a pretty great snack straight from the bag, especially when dipped in your favorite salad dressing, or a quick mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We’d be remiss, though, if we failed to mention how great they are for serving hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. Try filling them with picnic salads, fajitas, or seafood, or enjoy them as part of a classic Chinese-American appetizer by using them as Lettuce cups with savory-seasoned stir-fry chicken.
